General Advice

Healing Turret / Cleasing Burst

A strong self heal that also cleanses two conditions! In addition to it’s healing capabilites, it can be used as a CC skill through  Detonate Healing Turret.

Elixir Shell

Quite a powerful field that pulses healing over time, it can be a nice boost to keep up Scholar bonuses on other squad members! The skill is also a Water combo field which can be blasted by  Orbital strike,  Big Ol’ Bomb and  Flame Blast for some strong burst healing if needed.

Big Ol’ Bomb

One of Engineer’s strongest CC abilities,this skill  can be used to CC enemy breakbars, as well as providing additional utility at encounters like Vale Guardian, where it can push away the seekers. The skill is a DPS increase to use, however it’s very important to time it well to Knock seekers away, or save it for breakbars!

Rocket Boots / Rocket Kick

Rocket Boots and Rocket Kick are useful at bosses that move a lot (Matthias).  Napalm of Flamethrower kit can be very unreliable on bosses that are likely to move often, so using  Rocket Kick offers a more reliable option that still does comparable DPS to flamethrower skills. Rocket boots is also quite a strong mobility skill which can be handy at matthias when cleansing poison/dropping Well Of Profane.

Smoke Bomb / Flash Shell

Engineer can provide strong aoe blinds through Bomb & Mortar  kits. Blind is especially strong for fights like Sabetha, Xera, Trio and the Escort event. Blinding mobs can often be the difference between surviving, or a group wipe on some encounters, so it’s undoubtedly a strong utility that Engineer brings!

Freeze Grenade / Endothermic Shell

Engineer also Provides strong utility through Chill, which can be helpful for slowing down mobs. Chill is particularly useful for seeker control at Vale Guardian to prevent seekers from reaching your group.   Freeze Grenade is part of your damage rotation so try to avoid using it for soft CC unless the situation is dire,  Endothermic Shell should be enough chill to cover all encounters!

Glue Shot / Glue Bomb

Pistol and Bomb kit provide Cripple and Immobilize. These soft CCs can be very useful for seeker control at Vale Guardian or holding spirits during the gorseval split. Cripple and Immobilize also  provide small breakbar damage over time!

Engineer is an incredibly strong profession for this encounter, since it provides strong condition DPS, as well as being able to control all the seekers by themselves.

Use Big Ol’ Bomb  & Air Blast  to push the seekers away from your group.

Make sure to use Endothermic Shell Glue Shot  & Glue Bomb  to chill and immobilize the seekers once you have knocked them away!

Other than that, use your normal DPS rotation on the boss. If you have to go to green circles, then time your bombs when you are in melee range, then use grenades from ranged when you have to move out!

Nothing too special for engineer here, use your normal DPS rotation!

In the splits you can use  Endothermic Shell ,  Glue Shot  & Glue Bomb  to hold the spirits if needed. Engineer can easily hold 2-3 spirits at once if you time your skills correctly, although this shouldn’t be necessary.

Perfect fight for engineer since conditions will continue to damage her while she ports up.

A good engineer is easily the top DPS profession to bring for this encounter since sabetha stands perfectly still you can reach near-golem rotations on her, while also offering the option to kill cannons if that role should need to be filled!

Engineer is a very strong candidate to hold the wargs on the bottom team during the event.

Make sure to use Endothermic Shell Glue Shot  & Glue Bomb  to chill and immobilize the wargs, while also DPS’ing them down with your normal rotation!

Since Cairn barely moves, Engineer is a very strong candidate for DPS role here.

Try to have grenade skills ready for the green circles, so you lose as little damage as possible when moving out!

Be careful using Air Blast  since you can reflect his shards and hit your teammates!

Another golem boss which suits Engineer perfectly!

Use your normal rotation and you can reach near-golem rotations since he shouldn’t move at all!

Engineer is a nice option for Samarog since it provides strong DPS, as well as plenty of CC for Samarog’s frequent breakbars.

Use Big Ol’ Bomb  & Air Blast  to push Rigorn into the boss during the split, and use Endothermic Shell Glue Shot  & Glue Bomb  on Guildhelm, to transfer the soft CC over and keep Rigorn in place!

Condition Engineer provides strong DPS at this encounter while also having plenty of CC through Big Ol’ Bomb  & Air Blast  to handle the breakbars of the Sauls that spawn.

use Endothermic Shell Glue Shot  & Glue Bomb  on the prides to prevent them getting close to Saul!
