Power PS

  • Power PS still brings more CC than Condi PS but lacks a lot of damage since the buffs to Condi in the 22nd February Balance patch. You should only play this on Keep Construct and if your group is lacking a lot of CC.

General Advice

  • Casting Hundred BladesHundred Blades.png and Whirlwind AttackWhirlwind Attack.png together is the most important part of your rotation. Even when your rotation get scrambled up try to always keep at least these 2 skills in order.
  • Place your Banners so they’re always in range of your team on bosses that move a lot.
  • Keep your endurance low so you profit from Stick and MoveStick and Move.png
  • Swap to Mace/Shield if your group needs the extra CC and Head ButtHead Butt.png alone is not enough
As Warrior make sure that you position your banners in a good spot. In the 1st phase you can place them on the outside but keep in mind that you want to carry the banners into the split phases. Another point to consider is that the postion of the banners should be around the middle in the 2nd and 3rd phase because you kite Vale Guardian around most of the time. During the split phases Warrior can swap weapons to CC. Pay attention that you swap weapons in time because you do not want to be stuck on Mace / Shield for the Vale Guardian again. Try to time your Hundred Blades so that you don’t get ported by the blue fields! For max DPS you can double dodge at the beginning of the fight / each phase / end of each phase.

At Slothasor banner placement is important because you kite him around the area. Try to place banners in the center of the area and make sure that you are in range as long as possible. For CC, the time Slothasor turns invulnerable you can swap weapons to Mace / Shield and use every CC Skill you have. Shield 5 or Mace 2 blocks the fear in case you need it. Before the fight starts you can double dodge to trigger Stick and Move for more DPS. It is also possible to do it during every CC phase.

Try to have your banners always up in the burn phase. That requires you to delay your banners at the beginning a little or place them before going in and carry them inside after you have waited few seconds. Make sure you double dodge before entering the burning phase because you want to have the damage modifier “Stick and Move” for it. For CC you can swap weapons without worrying about your damage or Might up time since Keep Construct goes invulnerable. Try to CC as fast as possible, so make sure you use everything you have!

Condition PS

  • With the changes from the 22nd February Balance Patch Condition PS became the main build for Warrior on every Boss except Keep Construct. While the CC is a bit lower compared to Power PS the damage far outweighs this negative considering Condi PS can trade Shattering Blow for Wild Blow and still have superior damage.

General Advice

  • Place your Banners so they’re always in range of your team on bosses that move a lot.
  • Swap in Wild BlowWild Blow.png for Shattering BlowShattering Blow.png if your group needs more CC
  • Aim your Scorched EarthScorched Earth.png to hit important targets like Bloodstone Orbs on Xera or Orbs on Gorseval

Condi PS warrior is a good candidate for green circle duty as it loses very little damage from range, and will also help to maintain might on your green circle team! if you need an additional condition class for the Red Guardian, taking a Condi PS is a very strong option as it opens up another slot for a pure damage class like an Tempest/Dragonhunter, instead of having to take another condition based DPS profession which are weaker overall on Vale Guardian, due to his low armor!

Make sure to place your banners slightly outside of the boss so Tempests can easily access their conjured weapons!

Try to aim your Scorched Earth to hit the boss as well as orbs around the arena to help the tempest clear. If you’re taking updrafts then try to aim your scorched earth at the next wall you’re going to,as you can hit it even while standing at the boss!

Use your cripples/immobilises on the ghosts to hold them in place if you need to! Try to aim your scorched earth to hit multiple spirits if you can!

The simple rotation of condi PS makes it superior DPS wise on this encounter, Power PS may sometimes have to delay skills due to the flamewall/other mechanics which lowers it DPS potential here. Sabetha’s third champion Karde, also takes increased damage from conditions which makes this build far superior.

Try to aim your Scorched Earth to hit both the boss and the flame turrets he spawns to help cleave them down!

Condi PS has a much easier job of pulling off it’s rotation at Mathias than Power. The ranged nature of the build makes sure you lose minimal DPS and might uptime even when spreading out for mechanics, compared to power PS which can easily miss vital attacks if the boss moves at all!

Condi PS is also very useful for clearing the icy patches, try to aim your scorched earth through the boss to hit the patches as well!

Try to aim your Scorched Earth to hit both the boss and to clear bloodstone shards so your tank can move into a clear area!

As a condi PS you should take a ranged button during Xera’s minigames to allow a DPS profession to burst down the shard in the middle! Make sure the players meleeing the shard stay close to you so you can buff them with might!

CC Breakdown

Condition Berserker

  • While the damage in the testing area is a little lower than most other Condition Builds, it really shines in a real raid scenario. An example is Matthias where a Condition Ranger would have to spread out or do a mechanic and thus delay Bonfire but a Condition Berserker can just stay on Longbow and keep up DPS.

Why Power PS over Condition PS?

The reason why we decided to include the Power PS build as the go to build for the Phalanx Strength Warrior in fractals is pretty simple. In organized meta groups, most fractal bosses and adds die or phase really fast. Power Warrior brings high burst damage to achieve this.
On top of that, as a power class you are able to use Slaying Potions and Specific Sigils like Impact, Night or Slaying to further increase your dps and decrease the damage you take. This increases the high burst damage of Power PS even more. You will also have basically a free utility slot since the precision gain from 5 Mist Offensive Potions are enough to cover Signet of Fury. You can bring Signet of Might for extra dps and the ability to break bosses while they are blocking, Wild Blow for more break bar damage or For Great Justice! to quickly stack might while running or coming back after splits. Basically you can use any of the Warrior utility skills and adapt to the situation. Power Warrior also brings more CC than condition Warrior in form of Mace + Mace or Mace + Shield on your second weapon set.
That said, you should decide for your self which Warrior build is better for your groups. You won’t benefit from the modifiers of the Sigils and Potions if you don’t use them. On the other hand, a condition class loses much more damage if you don’t use Toxic Focusing Crystals and Veggie Pizza. You also have to check for yourself how long your group needs for certein bosses. If you phase Bloomhunger in 1 burst, than power PS is better but if it takes your group for ever to phase that boss, then you should play condi PS. In general, if you need too long to phase/kill a boss and don’t need any additional cc, Condi Warrior will out DPS Power War. If you can CC the boss quickly and immediatly burst it down, Power Warrior is the way to go for most fractals and bosses.
